Uganda secured a 2-0 win over Congo Brazzaville to move top of Group K in their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers.
Goals in each half from Aziz Kayondo and Jude Ssemugabi secured vital three points for the Cranes who secured a point with their 2-2 draw against South Africa on Friday at Orlando Stadium.
Meaning South Africa will need to beat South Sudan by three goals in order to move ahead of the East Africans tomorrow to end off the FIFA international break.
“I think we will have a tough game tomorrow having watched South Sudan in their last three games, Togo, Algeria and Congo,” Broos said in the pre-match press conference.
“So we know it’s an aggressive team and I don’t mean it negatively, very dedicated, also a synthetic pitch [we will play on] it’s not easy. So I expect a very difficult game tomorrow.
“We will try to win the game, it’s a different [challenge] on a different pitch, different opponent so we will see tomorrow.
“The game against Uganda was difficult but normally we should have won based on all the chances, which Uganda didn’t have, and they scored the second goal with the mistake of our keeper – we have three, four, five other chances to score.”
The two sides face off in Juba on Tuesday afternoon at 15h00, which will be televised on SABC Sport.
