Along with the likes of Florent Ibenge and Walid Regragui, Cisse, the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations winning coach was alongside the continental icons in doing their CAF Pro Licenses together and is widely considered coaching royalty in African football.
“We’re happy to be here, because is a friend, a big manager, and if he has a ceremony like he has today, we’re happy to come and I’m happy to be here today,” Cisse said at Mosimane’s 60th birthday celebration on Friday morning at FNB Stadium.
“I think coaches in Africa will progress day by day, year by year, we’re walking altogether, Florent Ibenge is here, I am here, Pitso is a legend and we need coaches in Africa to be strong – we need to work together to manage our own national teams or clubs.”
The 48-year-old has been in charge of the Lions of Teranga for nine years after three years with the U23 national team of his home country.
