Amajita Dominate Group Stage Squad

South Africa’s Under 20 side dominate the COSAFA U20 Championship group stage squad with five players after sealing passage to next year’s U20 AFCON.

Amajita continued where they left off after bagging two wins on the trot in Group C. They hammered Malawi 5-0 in their opening group match before following that up with another huge score, making light work of Lesotho with a 6-0 thrashing before the 2-0 win over Comoros. On Thursday afternoon, South Africa recorded a slender 1-0 win over Angola to keep their unbeaten record intact having yet to concede a goal.

Shandre Campbell, who now plies his trade for Club NXT out in Belgium, Orlando Pirates DDC side’s Mbekezeli ‘Mbazo’ Mbokazi, Patrick Autata of TS Galaxy, Stellenbosch FC’s Tylon Smith and goalkeeper Fletcher Lowe who is of South African and Portuguese origin and plays for Estoril Praia U19, all made the cut while SA coach Raymond Mdaka was selected as the coach of the group stage.

Botswana has two players in Philip Kaku and Motheo Mogapi while Mozambique’s Kelvio Neves, David Simukonda of Zambia, Lucas Paulo of Angola and Zimbabwe’s Allan Chapinduka complete the rest of the squad.
