Stellenbosch FC have confirmed their latest signing of midfielder Khomotjo Lekoloane from Baroka who was signed on transfer deadline day.
The 24-year-old midfielder scored seven goals for the Motsepe Foundation Championship club in 30 appearances and previously starred for Polokwane City and Free State Stars.
Prior to his stints in the second-tier, Lekoloane was on the books of Mamelodi Sundowns and Stellenbosch CEO Rob Benadie admits he’s been tracked for a while.
“We are pleased to welcome Khomotjo to Stellenbosch FC and believe he will be a valuable addition to the team. He will further bolster our attacking options as the club looks to progress deep in the domestic and continental competitions this season,” he told the club’s website.
“Kaka has been a mainstay in all the teams he has played in and has been tracked by our excellent recruitment department for some time. We look forward to seeing him further develop and showcase his undoubted skills to the Stellies faithful.”
Lekoloane could be in line to make his debut for the club in the MTN8 final against Orlando Pirates on Saturday afternoon at the Moses Mabhida Stadium (18h00).
