CAF Make Decision On AFCON Attendance

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) have reached a decision on fan attendance at the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon.

While question marks were raised about the readiness of the hosts for the continental showpiece and the Covid-19 pandemic issues – CAF and the AFCON Local Organising Committee has agreed to have a cap on the attendance.

According to the official statement released this week by the continental governing body, it’s been confirmed they struck an agreement with the Cameroon government to allow 80% capacity for the Intomtibale Lions.

Meanwhile, other fixtures will be capped at 60% of the ticket sales that will be made available to the general public.

The TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations will kick-off on Sunday, 09 January 2022 at Olembe Stadium in Yaounde. Hosts, Cameroon will play Burkina Faso at 17h00 local time.
