Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Miguel Cardoso has provided an update on injured Themba Zwane, saying the veteran star is recovering well though there’s still a long way to go.
Zwane has been out for three months after he was injured in the AFCON qualifiers when Bafana Bafana played away against Congo Brazzaville.

The 35-year-old was on crutches when he appeared on the screens supporting his teammates throughout Sundowns’ difficult schedule.
Cardoso gave an update on Zwane and mentioned that they won’t put pressure on him, but he is recovering well and is an important player for Sundowns and the national team.
“Themba is obviously very important for not only Sundowns football club but for South African football, national team player but no pressure he is recovering at home there’s still time to go,” Cardoso said.

“It’s a very strong injury, very hard injury quite severe. He is recovering well according to the program but there’s still time to go for sure.”
Sundowns confirmed their spot in the CAF Champions League quarterfinals after a 1-1 draw against Moroccan side ASFAR. The 2016 CAFCL winners finished second in their group.
