Amajita head coach Raymond Mdaka has named his final 26-man squad for the two friendly matches against Lesotho, with Kaizer Chiefs dominating the team with six players.
The national U20 side travel to neighbouring Lesotho on Thursday, August 15, for their two games on Friday, August 16 and Sunday, August 18, as they gear up for the upcoming 2024 COSAFA U20 Championships scheduled for September 2024.
Amakhosi have the most players in the squad with Mfundo Vilakazi, Takalani Mazhamba, Sifiso Timba, Mpho Khethang, Ofentse Kgosana and Gopolang Taunyane.
Other notable inclusions are Mamelodi Sundowns duo Siyabonga Mabena and Asekho Tiwani, Faiz Abraham and Langelihle Phili from Stellenbosch FC and Cape Town Spurs teenage sensation Luke Baartman.
Coach Mdaka will have to do without the availability of Shandre Campbell who recently made the switch from SuperSport United to Belgium with Club NXT after the player requested to be excused.
“We will have two days of vigorous of training that are dedicated to tactical work before we travel across the border to Maseru,” Mdaka said in statement by www.safa.net.
