Fadlu Davids and Simba SC have missed out on the NBC Premier League title after losing Wednesday’s Kariakoo Derby 2-0 to rivals Young Africans.
Simba needed a win to overtake Yanga on the log on the final day of the season but it wasn’t to be.
Davids and his men end 2024/25 on 78 points, just four behind Yanga, having only lost two of their 30 games – both against Young Africans.
Despite 25 wins and three draws, Simba only finished as runners-up, with Yanga collecting 82 points and an incredible 27 wins, and just one draw.
Yanga have now won the last four league titles, and 25 overall, while Simba end a great first season under Davids, as runners-up in the league and runners-up in the CAF Confederation Cup.
