Espérance Sportive de Tunis have confirmed the sacking of club legend Radhi Jaïdi via mutual termination after their shock last-16 Tunisia Cup exit this week.
Jaïdi, 46, has seen his homecoming to Taraji end abruptly before the end of his first season at the club after losing to CS Msaken 6-5 on penalties after a 1-1 draw in regulation time at the Stade du rugby M’saken on Wednesday evening.

The Tunisia legend won 14 major titles at the club as a player, which included eight league titles and five CAF inter-club competitions before his move to the Premier League where he starred for Bolton Wanders, Southampton and Birmingham City over eight seasons.
However, his legacy as a player has not been replicated in the dugout when they took the game on him succeeding two-time Champions League winner Mouine Chaabani.
Having won the Tunisia Super Cup, things looked bright for the former Saints youth coach, but their Champions League exit in the last-16 to ES Setif and the Tunisia Cup exit did not live up to the lofty expectations of the hierarchy despite being on course to win their sixth consecutive Ligue 1 title.
Jaïdi’s other experience after his U23 coaching stint in England came in the United States with Hartford Athletic and an assistant coaching role in Belgium with Cercle Brugge.
In less than 24 hours, the club has since replaced him with Nabil Maâloul, with the 59-year-old returning for his third stint with the club where he’s won two league titles and the 2011 Champions League.
