Grand Legacy FC head coach Willard Katsande has been named Coach Of The Month for May after guiding his side to an impressive run in six matches.
The 40-year-old Kaizer Chiefs legend took over the reins at Legacy after his abrupt exit barely two months from his first coaching job with Chinhoyi Rangers in the Northern Region Division One – Zimbabwe’s Second Division.
Katsande guided the Golden Boys to four wins, with a single draw and a defeat in six matches for the Eastern Region Soccer League Coach of the Month accolade.
It was double delight for Legacy with goalkeeper Daniel Tagara scooping the Goalkeeper Of The Month award after recording four straight clean sheets while conceding just once in six outings.

‘Salt & Vinegar’ was known for his no-nonsense approach in the heart of the Amakhosi midfield after being whisked away from the now defunct Ajax Cape Town in 2011.
He made 346 appearances for the Glamour Boys between 2011 and 2021, scoring 19 goals with a further 10 assists across all competitions.
Katsande also wore the Chiefs armband and won two league titles and the MTN8 trophy.
Upon his exit from Naturena, the former Warriors international joined Sekhukhune United in 2022 before calling time on his playing career shortly after.
