Wydad Athletic Club attacker Thembinkosi Lorch has held off stiff competition from Mohamed Rayhi and Mohamed Moufid to be named the club’s Player of the Month for March.
Since making season-long loan switch from Mamelodi Sundowns at the beginning of the season, ‘Nyoso’ seems to have rediscovered his old form that once saw him walk away with the coveted PSL Player of the Season award a few seasons back.
The former Orlando Pirates man had a good month of March where he was rated as one of the best players after their 2-2 draw against FUS Rabat.
He then scored his first goal in the Red Castle colours against Ittihad Tanger in their 1-1 draw which saw the Bafana Bafana midfielder been nominated alongside midfielder Rayhi who played three games and scored two goals in the Excellence Cup.
Moufid is the third player that was nominated after playing three games in March and scoring one goal against FUS Rabat in the Throne Cup and helped his side to advance to the round of 16.
South African winger Cassius Mailula won the previous month’s award.
