Rangers and Bafana Bafana defender Olwethu Makhanya has opened up about his preferred destinations should he seek a move away from the club in future.
Makhanya joined Rangers from Philadelphia Union ahead of the current season and has quickly become an important figure in the Scottish side’s defence.
The centre-back has made 10 appearances across all competitions so far, underlining his growing role within the team.
Makhanya says his main ambition is to play in one of the world’s top five leagues, with a move to the English Premier League at the top of his wishlist.
The centre-back ranks La Liga second on his list, while France’s Ligue 1 completes his top three destinations.
“I have my goals listed, where I’ve played, where I am right now and where I’m trying to go,” said Makhanya in the interview on Metro FM.
“So, we still have a couple of steps there left cause the main goal is to play in top five leagues in the world.
“I would put Premier League and La Liga up there and maybe France. So, that’s where we’re trying to get.”
