Former Royal AM president Shauwn ‘Ma’ Mkhize has been unveiled as the new president of Mbabene Highlanders AM Football Club.
Mkhize was the president of Royal Andile Mpisane FC before the club was expelled from the Premier Soccer League due to Mpisane’s issues with the South African Tax and Revenue Service (SARS).
The club were taken over by the curator after the SARS raided the houses and seized luxury cars of Mkhize over an alleged R40 million tax debt.
After Mkhize tried several attempts to reverse the decision via South African courts, she has now seemingly moved on and taken over eSwatini side Mbabane Highlanders.
Mkhize changed the club logo and name, adding the AM trademark to form the Mbabane Highlanders AM Football Club.
She was unveiled by the 13-time league champions on Saturday.
“I’ve added the AM to the name to show the unity between Mbabane Highlanders and the AM family,” she said at her unveiling.

Mbabane Highlanders finished in eight place in the Premier League of Eswatini last season.
