Al Ahly have confirmed that Pitso Mosimane’s second covid-19 test has tested negative, paving the way for the South African coach to sit on the bench ahead of their game against CONCACAF representatives Monterrey.
The news was confirmed on Saturday. Mosimane had tested positive on arrival in Qatar, but the club’s first football team doctor, announced that the first and second medical smears conducted by Mosimane were negative.
“Dr. Ahmed Abu Abla, the club’s first football team doctor, announced that the first and second medical smears conducted by Pitso Mosimane, the team’s coach, were negative,” the club statement read.
“The management of the team’s mission in Abu Dhabi addressed the organizing committee of the Club World Cup in the Emirates to confirm the result of the second medical smear for Mosimane and to clarify his position on the team’s leadership in today’s match from the stadium.”
