Nabi Closing In On New Club

Former Young Africans SC head coach Nasreddine Nabi will arrive in Morocco on Sunday to conclude a move to Botola Pro champions ASFAR.

In what will be a remarkable move for the club, as the first non-Moroccan African head coach appointment, Nabi has agreed personal terms with the historic club.

Having been close to joining Kaizer Chiefs before talks broke down last month, Nabi will take up the challenge in Morocco after winning a double domestic treble at Yanga.

Sources close to the deal confirmed to iDiski Times that he will arrive in the country on Sunday and if all goes well, should be concluded on Monday before an official unveiling.

ASFAR won the Moroccan top-flight last season despite sacking Frenchman Fernando da Cruz before the end of the season – who had led them to the Throne Cup quarter-final and CAF Confederation Cup semi-finals.

This publication also understands Nabi held talks with Wydad but after opening talks on personal terms, an official contract offer was delayed and ASFAR snapped him up.
