Nabi Confirms Future Decision

ASFAR head coach Nasreddine Nabi has confirmed his exit from the club after the loss in the Throne Cup final, with his move to Kaizer Chiefs imminent.

Nabi’s side lost 2-1 to Josef Zinnbauer’s Raja Athletic Club, who completed an unbeaten double.

However, for ASFAR and their Tunisian mentor it was another heartbreaking resulting after missing out on the Botola Pro title by just one point.

After the Throne Cup final, Nabi apologised to the club’s fans and also confirmed he will make way for a new coach.

“I want to apologise to the fans of ASFAR for failing in a short space of time,” he said in his post-match presser.

“We were not able to make them happy by coming second. This is football.

“It was a very strong season for the players. I was asking a lot from them, and perhaps they were tired.

“It is better for another coach to come with a new ideas.”

Nabi is expected to fly to South Africa in the coming days and join Amakhosi, where part of his new technical team have already started to work with Chiefs.

On Monday, Chiefs confirmed the exit of former caretaker coach Cavin Johnson, who didn’t return to his role as Head of Academy.
