Ramovic Reaches Impressive Milestone With CRB

Sead Ramović has reached an important milestone with CR Belouizdad, leading the team in 50 matches, a rare feat for the club that’s known for its coaching instability.

In the highly demanding environment of the Algerian Ligue Professionnelle 1, where coaching changes are frequent and pressure at top clubs is constant, reaching such a number of matches in one continuous tenure is notable.

During Ramović’s time in charge, CR Belouizdad has produced some of the strongest performance metrics in the league with the highest expected goals (xG) and the highest ball possession in the league, reflecting a clear attacking philosophy and proactive playing style.

While they remain 11 points behind leaders MC Alger, CRB hold four rounds of league fixtures still to catch up on due to CAF inter-club football commitments, there’s been qualification for the Algerian Cup semi-finals and the CAF Confederation Cup quarter-finals.

Reaching the 50-match mark at a club with the expectations and scrutiny of CRB therefore represents more than a simple milestone—it reflects consistency, resilience, and sustained performance in one of the most demanding football environments in North African football the former TS Galaxy head coach noted.

“Reaching 50 matches with CR Belouizdad is of course a meaningful milestone, especially in a league like Algeria where coaching positions can change very quickly and the pressure at big clubs is constant,” Ramovic tells iDiski Times.

“At many clubs the average tenure for a coach is around 15 to 25 matches, so reaching 50 games reflects the hard work of the players, the staff, and the commitment of everyone around the team. But for me, milestones are never the main focus. The most important thing is the progress of the team and the identity we are building on the pitch.

“During this period, we have tried to implement a proactive style of football, with intensity, structure and the ambition to control matches. The statistics, like our xG numbers and ball possession, show that the team is moving in that direction.

“For the rest of the season, the targets are very clear. We want to compete strongly in every competition we are still involved in, push as far as possible in the Algerian Cup, and continue representing the club with ambition and responsibility in Africa. At a club like CR Belouizdad the objective is always to fight for titles and success, and that mentality will not change.”

Ramovic is now the second long-serving coach in the club’s modern history behind Frenchman Alain Michel who lasted 610 days at the helm of the Algerian giants – with the Bosnian now just six games away from his overall record.
