Wydad Athletic Club moved into second in the Botola Pro after a 1-1 draw with Hassania Union Sport d’Agadir in the Botola Pro on Saturday evening.
Wydad came from a goal down after Jamal Ech-Chammakh opened the scoring five minutes into the second half from the spot.
But the home side were pegged back 20 minutes later when Hamza Sakh levelled matters with an effort from outside the area, in which he ran straight to his head coach Rulani Mokwena after finding the net.
Sakhi has secured a new lease of life under the new coach, having previously been on the periphery of the first-team squad.
However, the point meant Wydad missed the chance to move to the summit of the table as they Union Touarga by one point with five games played.
Mokwena’s charges, who finished fifth in the league last season, have won two, drawn two and lost one from the opening five fixtures in the league.
