Peter Shalulile was again on the score sheet as Young Africans celebrated a 2-1 comeback win over Mashujaa SC in the first game after Manqoba Mngqithi departed.
Yanga found themselves a goal down after 17 minutes and had to work extra hard to secure the three points.
But just five minutes Shalulile scored the equaliser to level matters and calm the situation for the home side.
Both teams went into the break with matters level after Stephane Aziz Ki had set up Shalulile.
The home side eventually found the winner in the 79th minute when Clement Mzizi put Yanga in front.
The win saw Yanga cut their gap on log leaders and bitter rivals Simba SC to just two points with a game in hand.
Mngqithi’s former assistant Simo Dladla was in charge of the match, after the former Mamelodi Sundowns and Golden Arrows head coach was sacked over the weekend.
