It didn’t take Percy Tau long to win his first award in Egypt after he was named Egyptian Premier League Player of the Week following his super debut.
The 27-year-old joined Al Ahly from Brighton & Hove Albion in the recent transfer window but picked up an injury while on Bafana duty in September.
However, he finally made his long-awaited debut against Ismaily in Al Ahly’s league opener last week, putting in a performance to remember.
Tau scored a brace in the 4-0 win, writing headlines in Egypt and South Africa.
As a consequence of his fine performance, the Young Lion was now voted Egyptian Premier League Player of the Week – hopefully the first of many accolades to come for Tau in Egypt.
Tau also featured in Al Ahly’s second game of the league, a 1-0 win over Bank of Egypt, but had a quieter performance than on his debut.
