Hope FC has been crowned Western Cape ABC Motsepe League champions after defeating Diadora FC.
In their first season in the ABC Motsepe League after purchasing the status of Sea Point Swifts in 2025, this side signed quality players with one aim of gaining promotion immediately.
Players such as Craig Martin, Clayton Daniels, Ruzaigh Gamaldien, Dean Solomons, Ayanda Patosi, and Masilakhe Phohlongo will all ring a bell to South African football fans, and have played for them this campaign, with experienced Dylan Deane as the head coach, with Keagan Buchanan as the CEO.
‘The Immortals’ won Stream A of the league comfortably after collecting 53 points in 24 games, before facing Stream B winners Diadora FC, who collected 47 points in 22 games.
The two sides battled for a spot in provincial playoffs at William Herbert Sports ground, and Hope FC came out tops, winning by 1-0.
Two young players, especially, stood out throughout the season: Edmilson Chaney and Caleb Avontuur, whom Hope FC, might struggle to keep after the playoffs.
Chaney, also known as ‘Millies’, had a standout season that caught the attention of several PSL clubs and iDiski Times heard Hope FC will definitely have him for the regional playoffs, but anything can happen after, as teams from higher leagues are already sniffing around.
