Rulani’s Wydad Hammer Opponents To Go Second

Cassius Mailula was on the scoresheet was Wydad Athletic Club secured their fifth successive win to move into second place in the league on Sunday.

Rulani Mokwena’s men ran riot in a 5-1 win over SC Chabab Mohammedia this evening.

Mailula opened the scoring in the 33rd minute, while the rest of the goals followed after the break after the visitors were reduced to 10 men in the 50th minute.

Mohamed Rayhi made it 2-0 in the 51st minute before the visitors pulled one back in the 57th.

But three late goals in the 84th, 87th and 91st minute saw Wydad secure a comfortable 5-1 win to make it five victories in a row.

Thembinkosi Lorch came on in the 77th minute, as Mokwena’s side moved to 39 points from 21 games – 11 behind leaders RS Berkane, who have a game in hand.

Mokwena himself was not on the sidelines after attending the funeral of his late grandmother in the South Africa this weekend, but communicated with his technical team throughout the match.
