Mpheni Home defenders head coach Sydwell Phuravhathu was not particularly pleased with how they gave away two too soft goals and reckons his players gave Mamelodi Sundowns too much respect.
The Limpopo-based ABC Motsepe League outfit saw their cup of dreams journey come to an end after they went down 2-0 to the Brazilians at the Lucas Moripe Stadium in Tshwane on Sunday afternoon.
Speaking to SuperSport TV, Phuravhathu urged his troops to show fight even though they had a mountain to climb and the break, further adding that regardles of the score, they wanted to exit the competition by being given respected.
“My worry is that we conceded two soft goals if you can check,” he said.
“Those are giveaway goals and for us we have to come out and fight as a team and show respect that we don’t respect Mamelodi Sundowns, but we want our batch also to be respected in the game.

“That’s what I told the boys in the half-time that we don’t want to come out of this competition without being respected in South African football.
“Let’s go out and fight. If they can beat us with any score that’s not a problem but the fact that whether you’re beaten 5-0, whether you’re beaten 2-0 you’re out of the competition.
“That’s the reason the boys were motivated and go and fight in the second half.”
