Bafana Announce Starting XI For South Sudan

Bafana Bafana head coach Hugo Broos has announced his starting XI for this afternoon’s must-win 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifications tie against South Sudan, with Sipho Chaine replacing Veli Mothwa in goals.

South Africa was held to a disappointing 2-2 draw by Uganda in Orlando in their Group K opener on Friday last week and will be out to get maximum points after Sudan lost their tie 1-0 to Congo Brazzaville.

Following the Cranes’ 2-0 victory over Congo on Monday, Broos’ charges find themselves in third place on the standings but could leapfrog the former into top spot should they come away with a superior goal margin win.

Here is how Bafana will line-up:

Bafana Starting XI: Chaine, Modiba, Mudau, Dortley, Ngezana, Mokoena, Sithole, Zwane (c), Morena, Appollis, Foster

Subs: Mothwa, Goss, Mobbie, Basadien, Kekana, Sibisi, Mbatha, Adams, Mofokeng, Maswanganyi, Rayners, Mokwana

The match will get underway at Juba National Stadium, with the kick off set for 3pm.
