Bafana Bafana defender Siyanda Xulu is still in search of a new club as the hunt continues with the current campaign already underway.
Xulu,32, parted ways with SuperSport United five months ago after spending one season with the side.
He was part of Hugo Broos’ squad that finished third in the AFCON earlier this year in Ivory Coast but now faces a conundrum of having to watch the continental showpiece from his couch.
The experienced defender played in Europe for seven seasons, turning out for the likes of FC Rostov, which he won the Russian Cup with, Hapoel Tel Aviv and Turan Tovuz. Locally, he played for Mamelodi Sundowns, Kaizer Chiefs, Maritzburg United and Matsatsantsa.
He was close to joining Josef Zinnbauer’s side, Al Wedha, but the move collapsed at the final stages of talks.
A few unnamed clubs remain interested in the experienced Bafana defender, but there are no concrete offers at the present moment.

The defender hopes to secure a move before next year as he aims to return to the national team ahead of the AFCON in 2025.
Xulu is a free agent and is allowed to join a team of his choice at any given time.
