Pitso Mosimane has named his first Bafana Bafana starting line-up for this afternoon’s 2027 Africa Cup of Nations Group D Qualifier against Guinea at Orlando Amstel Arena.
‘Jingles’ makes a return to the national team fold since being relieved of his duties in 2012 after a failure to qualify for the 2012 AFCON, and he will now have it all to proof following what was a fairly successful five-year stay for his predecessor Hugo Broos.

South Africa are eager to get their qualification off to a great start in a group which also features Eritrea and already-qualified co-hosts Kenya.
Guinea, on the other hand missed the last edition of the AFCON (2025) and are winless in their last four outings playing to two draws and back-to-back defeats.
Coming into this clash, the Syli National have faced issues regarding visas and travel documents which led to key players declining call-ups including former Liverpool star Naby Keita.
The two teams have met on four occasions before and it’s Guinea that holds the upper hand with two wins to Bafana’s one with the other match ending in a stalemate.
