Kenya national team coach Benni McCarthy has explained why he backs his side’s chances against Bafana Bafana when the two sides meet.
Harambe Stars and South Africa will face off in back-to-back AFCON qualifiers later this year in November.

McCarthy will be facing his home country as he also prepares Kenya for the next year’s AFCON tournament which they will host along with Uganda and Tanzania.
The former Manchester United strikers’ coach says changing of the coach might be the challenge for South Africa as players will take some time to get used to Pitso Mosimane’s way of doing things.
McCarthy believes they will take advantage of that.
“As good as they are, we have seen them at the World Cup but whenever there’s a change of guard, it takes time for players to understand a new head coach,” said Benni on Sporty TV.
“It takes time to understand his philosophy, how he plays and what he wants to achieve.
“So, maybe the [change of coach] could have come at a better [time] for us because it will take a couple of games for South Africa to play the way Pitso wants to play.”
