The South African Football Association (SAFA) have stated the Ordinary NEC Meeting in Sandton on Saturday proved to be ‘very successful’ where national team coaches Hugo Broos and Desiree Ellis were present.
Broos had stated on Monday that SAFA President Dr. Danny Jordaan assured him a meeting with Premier Soccer League Chairman Dr Irvin Khoza would take place this week.
With several topics on the agenda for the NEC meeting, SAFA confirmed matters from the raid of SAFA House by the Hawks took place after allegations of fraud were discussed and they maintain no money is missing from the Football Association.
“This meeting was very successful and the spirit of the engagements made us very happy,” the SAFA President said.
Broos and Ellis outlined their programmes for the upcoming international periods with Banyana Banyana set for their fourth round CAF Women’s Olympic qualifier against Nigeria and Bafana Bafana set for the FIFA Series in Algeria to prepare for the June World Cup qualifiers.
Broos and Ellis also handed SAFA Vice Presidents Irvin Khoza and Natasha Tsichlas with Africa Cup of Nations bronze medals while the Technical Committee put forward the reinstatement of Banyana legend Simphiwe Dludlu as the SA U17 coach.
