Mabasa – How I Silenced My Critics

Tshegofatso Mabasa has admitted that the last six months have been challenging with people doubting him however he is pleased to have silenced doubters with his performances.

The Orlando Pirates striker spent the first half of the season on loan at Moroka Swallows where he scored six goals in 13 games.

Before the Swallows loan the 27-year-old spent the previous campaign on loan at Sekhukhune United where he featured in 20 encounters in all competitions but scored just two goals.

Mabasa told IDiski Times senior writer Velile Mnyandu in the latest edition of the newspaper that he wants to continue doing well on return at Pirates with hopes of returning to the national team.

“I think in the past six months I’ve had a lot of doubters,” Mabasa told iDiski Times.

“And I think I’ve managed to silence a lot of them as well in the process through my performances on the field.

“And that is exactly what I want to continue to do, continue to give my best, especially for the black and white and hopefully get back in the national team again.”

Mabasa has scored nine goals with three assists in 20 games across all competitions in the 2023/24 season thus far.
