Bafana Bafana head coach Hugo Broos suggests that teenage duo Relebohile Mofokeng and Shandre Campbell are close to breaking into the senior national team.
Both teenagers were stars of the DStv Diski Challenge last season and earned first-team promotions to become regular features in the starting XI of Orlando Pirates and SuperSport United respectively.
However, neither was named in the senior national team yet, which Broos says is about them showing consistency over the next few months.
“Those who are there, are there, there’s still [some] more on the list [we monitoring], we will look at them, Mofokeng [and Campbell],” Broos said about their potential inclusions.
“Mofokeng of Pirates is a very interesting player. A very young player also, so we’ll see if he can keep his position at Pirates, okay… Then maybe there will come a moment when we call him.
“But he’s very good and it’s very good we detect those players, follow those players and at the right moment we will call them, you can be sure of it.”
