Stellenbosch FC hammered Royal AM at Idas Valley to move two points behind Mamelodi Sundowns.
The Cape Winelands side came to the match knowing very well anything less than a win won’t be enough after Sundowns easily beat Cape Town Spurs on Saturday morning.
Stellies delivered a 4-0 victory with Mervin Boji scoring a brace, while Quwan Plaatjies and Tyler Cicero were also on the scoresheet.
This is Stellies fourth straight win since their 2-1 loss against SuperSport United back in February.
Meanwhile, AmaZulu ended their winless run in a five goal thriller, beating Cape Town City by 3-2 to move into 14th place.
Defending champions Matsatsantsa added wounds to Polokwane City who has been struggling season, beating them 2-1. The Tshwane side move to fifth place with 36 points.
