St Louis City head coach Bradley Carnell impressed by Njabulo Blom’s return after missing the LA Galaxy match due to injury.
The former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder was introduced in the 80th minute with the game square to 2-2. Blom solidified the midfield and received a caution in additional time.
The 24-year-old missed out on a Bafana Bafana call-up for the FIFA series against Andorra and Algeria in Algeria.
He also missed out on the AFCON which was recently hosted in Ivory Coast.
Carnell was left impressed by Blom and stated that they would push him and demand more from him.
“Good, he has a certain pre-orientation where the ball might pop out, and playing against [Christian] Benteke it pops up anywhere. We would have liked to get him more minutes tonight,” Carnell told the media.
“The rhythm and the progression of the game we just thought that was the right moment to bring him in. I thought he looked pretty good, we just have to push him, keep on demanding more in training, getting him to up to more speed.”
