Chiefs Face Stiff Competition For Bafana Defender

Kaizer Chiefs are facing stiff competition for the signature of towering Bafana Bafana defender Ime Okon with European sides also interested.

There’s been lot of rumours surrounding the SuperSport United defender with several teams linked with him including Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns.

The 21-year-old has attracted a lot of interest from Europe after spending a few weeks on trial in Ukraine earlier this year at Dynamo Kyiv.

The former SuperSport development player is on the verge of leaving the club on a free with his contract set to expire at the end of June.

Okon made 24 appearances for Matsatsantsa this past season and played a crucial role in making sure that they don’t get relegated.

The former Randburg FC centre-back was part of the makeshift Bafana COSAFA Cup squad that won silver at the recently concluded tournament on home soil.
