Bafana Bafana assistant coach Helman Mkhalele has announced a 22-man squad for the 2025 African Nations Championship (CHAN) Qualifiers against Egypt with Orlando Pirates star Monnapule Saleng a surprise inclusion.
South Africa takes on the Pharaohs on Friday, 28 February, with the return fixture set for Sunday, 9 March.
Other notable inclusions are Kaizer Chiefs’ DStv Diski Challenge captain Aden McCarthy, Siphamandla Gumede of Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns trio Jody February, Neo Maema and Terrence Mashego.
The CHAN tournament will take place from August 2 to 30, 2025, in Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda.
