It’s a critical game for both side’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualification after Bafana started with a 2-1 win over Benin and 2-0 defeat to Rwanda, while Nigeria drew 1-1 with Lesotho and Zimbabwe, respectively.
As a consequence, the loser of today’s tie would fall behind in Group C after three matches played.
With Hugo Broos announcing a competitive 26-man squad, with near full-fitness, apart from Grant Kekana, ’16V’ picked his starting XI.
The Chiefs legend named seven Mamelodi Sundowns players in his line-up, in addition to Nkosinathi Sibisi, Patrick Maswanganyi, Sphelele Sithole and Lyle Foster.
“In this line-up of mine, it’s 4-4-1-1,” Khumalo said on the 10Bet DNA Podcast.
Below is Khumalo’s Bafana XI in full:
- Ronwen Williams
- Khuliso Mudau
- Mothobi Mvala
- Nkosinathi Sibisi
- Aubrey Modiba
- Teboho Mokoena
- Sphelele Sithole
- Patrick Maswanganyi
- Themba Zwane
- Percy Tau
- Lyle Foster
A win over the Super Eagles, will see Bafana topple Lesotho at the top of the group, following their memorable 2-0 win over Zimbabwe in Friday afternoon’s earlier kick-off.
