Outspoken FCSB boss George Becali blessed Siyabonga Ngezana for African Cup Of Nations despite some arguments from other European teams about the tournament.
Romanian Superliga leaders FSCB might have to continue fighting for their league title without their new star defender in January.
The former Kaizer Chiefs Central-back was named in the Hugo Broos’ 50-man preliminary AFCON squad that will still be trimmed to 23-man squad at the end of December.
With so many European teams having a problem with players leaving their clubs for the AFCON, Becali came out and stated that he can’t deny Ngezana this opportunity.
“There is no problem with the boy leaving. If it’s an official tournament, players normally go there,” Becali said, as per The CoverUp.
“How can I stop him from leaving? There are rules, that’s how it is done. I don’t break the rules.
“But let’s see, he is on a list, it is not clear that he will go to the national team, that list is preliminary.
“But I cannot forbid a man to represent his country, how can I do such a thing? It’s according to the rules, I don’t break the rules.”
