Lehlohonolo Seema says Polokwane City wishes midfielder Oswin Appollis well after he received his first Bafana Bafana call-up ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Benin and Rwanda.
Appollis a former junior national team international is one of the new faces in Hugo Broos’ 23 man squad for the qualifiers in Durban and Huye.
The 22-year-old joined Rise and Shine at the beginning of the season and has since impressed in his 14 matches in all competitions, scoring three goals while picking up as many assists as well.
“It’s not about me being happy, it’s about the hard work that he’s been doing and the support that he’s been getting from the teammates,” said Seema after his side’s goalless draw with Moroka Swallows.
“We wish him all the best as a team and it’s good that his colleagues can see that even in our team, the national team selectors, they can look and select players.
“So we spoke to him we wished him well and we asked him to represent us very well.
“But as a club it’s not about me because I know that I’m not alone. This is a boat [and] we have a lot of support, a lot of structure and we are many and all of us we are happy for him because of the badge of the team that he is putting on the map being selected.”
