According to former PSL referee Victor Hlungwani, Lesotho defender Motlomelo Mkhwanazi should’ve been cautioned for his reckless tackle on Bafana Bafana striker Lyle Foster.
With Hugo Broos’ charges leading 2-0 in their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier’s clash at Peter Mokaba Stadium on Friday night, Mkhwanazi fouled the Bafana number nine by stamping on top of his foot.
The incident did however go unpunished with “The Principal” of the opinion that the Likuena centre-back should’ve been given a yellow card.
“We’re going to reckless tackle, there’s a player called Mkhwanazi,” he said on SABC Sport’s Soccerzone.
“He was kicking Foster, left right and centre.
“Let me show you how he was kicking Foster this person [Mkhwanazi].
“There’s what we call reckless tackle. Reckless tackle is when a player acts with disregard to the danger or consequences for his actions.
“And that player must be cautioned. Look at him there busy kicking people.
“He was supposed to be given a yellow card.”
