iDiski TV analyst Junior Khanye was visibly frustrated in his analysis of Bafana Bafana‘s defeat to Mexico saying Thalente Mbatha should’ve started ahead of Sphephelo Sithole.
Sithole was among five midfielders given a starting berth in the Bafana midfield alongside Teboho Mokoena, Jayden Adams, Khuliso Mudau and Aubrey Modiba.

The set-up from South Africans fans at large was questionable as Sithole was dispossessed after just nine minutes in a dangerous area, allowing Julian Quinones to pounce and rattle the back of the net from the edge of the box to open the scoring.
Things went from bad to worse for ‘Yaya’ as Bafana were reduced to 10 men when he was shown a straight red card for a foul on Brian Gutierrez as the last man.
South Africa finished the game with nine men after Themba Zwane also saw red late in the game with El Tri running out 2-0 victors on the night to top Group A.
Khanye was furious that Sithole was picked ahead of Mbatha because he plies his trade in Europe.
“The weak point, the coach keeps starting this boy Yaya, why?” he said on iDiski TV.
“He doesn’t have energy. There’s no energy.
“Just because he plays in Europe doesn’t mean he’s better than the likes of Mbatha. Sometimes you need luck in life. Simple. Play with Mbatha.
“It’s very difficult to coach a player that is not talented. You can’t turn without scanning the surroundings. That position needs a talented player.
“I’m very disappointed with the way he [Broos] started the game.”
