Khune & Pitso Send Messages To Williams

Itumeleng Khune and Pitso Mosimane are just two of the high profile South African football personalities who have posted congratulations messages to Bafana Bafana captain Ronwen Williams after his penalty shootout heroics on Saturday.

Williams set a new record as he saved four out of five spot kicks in the win over Cape Verde, that booked Hugo Broos’ team a spot in the CAF Africa Cup of Nations semi-finals.

In the past 24 hours many have sent messages, including former Bafana, Mamelodi Sundowns and Al Ahly coach Mosimane, currently at Abha FC in Saudi Arabia; and Khune, the Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper who was Bafana’s number one for many years.

Khune and Mosimane took to social media to share their feelings with Williams and congratulate him on his heroics.

“Best In The Country and Continent,” Khune posted on Instagram.

“🧤 @ronwen30 give him his 🌹 🌺 4 Penalty Saves 4 CleanSheets 🙌🏽 #Respect Boeta 🤝”

Meanwhile Mosimane wrote: “What a performance Captain Ronwen @ronwen30 .

“You carried the whole country on your shoulders.

“Well done to your team mates, Coach Hugo and entire technical team.👏🏾💪🏿🇿🇦”
