The South African Football Association have announced Molefi Ntseki as coach to lead the Bafana Bafana squad in the upcoming CHAN qualifiers against Egypt.

South Africa takes on the Pharaohs on Friday, 28 February, with the return fixture set for Sunday, 9 March.

SAFA had announced the squad for the qualifiers on Saturday, with some notable inclusions like Kaizer Chiefs’ DStv Diski Challenge captain Aden McCarthy, Siphamandla Gumede of Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns trio Jody February, Neo Maema and Terrence Mashego.

“The team assembled in Johannesburg on Wednesday, 26 February 2025 and then travelled to the Free State with SAFA Technical Committee Chairman Jack Maluleke and SA U20 coach Raymond Mdaka. Mdaka will assist former Bafana Bafana mentor Molefi Ntseki, who joined the camp this evening and will now assume the reins as coach of the team,” SAFA stated on Wednesday.

In addition, the first leg was moved from Friday, 28 February to Sunday, 2 March after the North Africans requested the postponement when it became apparent that they would only receive the documents on the day of the match.

The game will kick off at 17:00 at the Free State Stadium in Bloemfontein on Sunday afternoon.
