Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos has revealed which advise he shared with Relebohile Mofokeng after he was linked with moves to FC Barcelona B and Scottish giants Rangers.
Speculation about Mofokeng’s future has been in overdrive, with the 20-year-old being linked with moves to Europe, and the B side of Barca as well as Rangers said to be among the clubs looking at him, according to reports in local media.

This publication learnt that Orlando Pirates rejected a late January offer from Egyptian giants Zamalek for Mofokeng, with Broos insisting he told the Bafana winger to make the right choice for the benefit of his career.
“I said it the first year when he came in the team, because immediately there was a lot of interest about him,” the Belgian mentor stated.
“And I said it to him also, I said, ‘Look, just stay one year more. You play Champions League with Pirates. You will have experience also the PSL, it’s too soon now to go’.
“So that was already a good choice he made to stay in Pirates. And now what I said, he has to make the choice playing, and maybe not immediately – Ok, if we talk about Barcelona, he can go in two, three years in Barcelona too, and he will be more stronger than now.
“Mofokeng [in SA] everybody likes him, and he’s a nice guy, and then he has a lot of talent. But the day he comes to in Barcelona, he’s just Mofokeng.

“So this is the most important thing I want [him to understand]. Barcelona, but because it will be for the second team, and they are playing in second division in Spain, it’s a high level. Okay, even when I’m not really happy where they should go.
“But when you talk about the Rangers, what is Rele going to do in the Scottish competition where the ball is in the air, and when you have the ball and they kill you.
“He will not play there. He will not play there, even with the talent he has. This is not the style of football for Rele, and that is what I mean when making the good choice for him.”
