Wydad Athletic Club are currently in talks Nasreddine Nabi for a potential return to the Botola Pro, just months after his exit at fierce rivals Raja Athletic Club.
Wydad are currently in ninth place in the league, with five points from their opening four league games, which has seen the club act on head coach Paulo Sergio – relieving him of his duties.
Nabi has emerged as a potential candidate to take over, while the likes of Alexandre Santos, who led ASFAR Rabat to the CAF Champions League final last season is also in the race. However, the Portuguese coach recently joined LIgaNos outfit Nacional, casting doubt whether he’d leave the club after just four games in charge.
Spanish coach Michel is another name linked with the hotseat as the Moroccan giants look to get the house in order swiftly as another season without challenging for the title, or qualifying for CAF Champions League will be considered as a major blow.
Nabi oversaw seven games at Raja before resigning from the club, citing interference from the club’s new Sporting Director, and has since been linked with several jobs in North Africa in recent months, but the move to Wydad could be enticing for the Tunisian – who also had a stint with ASFAR, prior to his move to Kaizer Chiefs.
