Ntseki On Broos After Bafana Victory

Kaizer Chiefs head coach Molefi Ntseki says they will continue to support Bafana Bafana and hailed their recent win over DR Congo under Hugo Broos.

The Belgian has come under the microscope recently after stating Chiefs players, on current performances don’t deserve to feature in his squad.

However, an injury to Themba Zwane saw Pule Mmodi return to the fold and the in-form winger featured during the FIFA international break as South Africa drew 0-0 with Namibia and beat Congo 1-0 at Orlando Stadium this week.

Broos suggested during the camp that he would like to meet with Ntseki, whom he wanted as his assistant coach when he was first appointed to replace him in May 2021 – in order to discuss a way forward, while he denied he was taking shots at the Amakhosi boss.

Broos – Why I Want To Meet ‘Upset’ Ntseki

“Congratulations to Bafana Bafana, I think they won a crucial game against a quality team, DRC is ranked higher than Bafana [sic] and I think they have done very well,” Nteski said about Broos without mentioning, if they have been in communication.

“As Kaizer Chiefs, we’re [delighted] to see one of our top quality players being selected for Bafana Bafana, as for whatever happened, whatever was said, I think the most important thing is that it’s our national team, we support the national team as Kaizer Chiefs.

“We develop and produce players for the national team, so with coach Hugo, I can only wish him the best of luck going into AFCON.”

Nteski will be aiming to return to DStv Premiership action with a victory when they take on Royal AM on Saturday at FNB Stadium (17h30).
