Orlando Pirates head coach Jose Riveiro is delighted that more players from their squad is being noticed by Bafana Bafana head coach Hugo Broos.
Thabiso Sesane, 24, is the latest player from their squad to be named in the preliminary squad for the upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Congo Brazzaville.

He’s alongside returnee Tshegofatso Mabsa, Thalente Mbatha, Nkosanathi Sibisi, Patrick Maswanganyi, Relebohile Mofokeng and Sipho Chaine, who recently made his senior national team debut in the 3-2 win over South Sudan.
“It’s good news any time a Pirates player is on the list of whichever national team, in this case, Bafana Bafana, I didn’t even know, you [media] are telling me the news right now, I don’t even know who is there,” he said after the game.
“I was quite busy there outside today, but happiness for the boys, I think, if coach Hugo is putting the eyes on the boys, we are happy and it’s because they are performing well and good enough to get that responsibility because it’s a big one to play for your country.
“It’s something that makes us feel very proud and hopefully in the future, little by little we get more space there.”
Sesane has featured in every minute of their nine games across all competitions this season forming an impressive partnership in defence alongside Olisa Ndah.
