Sithole – This Sundowns Star Would Be Loved In Europe

Bafana Bafana midfielder Siphephelo ‘Yaya’ Sithole believes Mamelodi Sundowns defender Mothobi Mvala has all the right attributes to be loved in Europe.

Mvala, 30, has been a major pillar in Hugo Broos’ Bafana side, featuring in all games but the third-place playoff at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

He’s also often one of the first players on Rulani Mokwena’s teamsheet at Masandawana, even though he has the odd costly mistake in him.

However, he’s now received the backing from his Bafana teammates Sithole, who believes Mvala is one of five Sundowns players who could make it in Europe.

“There is [Aubrey] Modiba, Mvala because Mvala for sure they can love him in Europe,” he said on PowerFm Sport.

“[Khuliso] Mudau, Ronwen [Williams] can play in Europe as well.”

When asked to explain his selection of Mvala, Sithole explains that the defender’s personality and work ethic would be perfect for a move abroad.

“Firstly, he is a good person, he’s very professional and he’s a good guy,” he continued.

“So in Europe, they love they love someone who will be a good person.

“And secondly, the way he plays, and he gives everything on the pitch. He’s very aggressive, he helps the defence, he commands at the back. And he’s the big, and he’s a good passer of the ball as well.

“He’s got all the aspects as a defender and they’re quite looking for that style. I’m sure they’d love him in Europe.”
