iDiski TV analyst Benedict Vilakazi has heaped huge praise on Bafana Bafana midfielder Brooklyn Poggenpoel who he wants to see don the black and white of Orlando Pirates.

Poggenpoel put in a masterclass performance in the middle of the park after injury forced Bathusi Aubaas off early in the clash against Eritrea.

The 26-year-old Durban City player instantly became the topic of discussion after the match with South African football fans raving about his performance on the night.

‘Tso’ was equally impressed by the shift Poggenpoel put in and said if it was up to him, he would fork out R5,5 million to whisk him away from the defending Nedbank Cup champions.

“Once and always. These are the types of players we want at Pirates,” he said on iDiski TV.

“We playing Champions League, so there’s no other way he can go to another team except coming to Orlando Pirates.

“After this performance, I can give him R5,5 million [to join Pirates].

“This boy Poggenpoel just reminded me of his uncle [Shane Poggenpoel].

“He used to play in that position. Played for Ajax, played for SuperSport United commanding that midfield.

“It was difficult to face Poggenpoel and when I look at this boy, he plays the very same position, he’s good with the ball, he’s got a good eyesight.

“When he goes to receive the ball, he knows where he goes and for me it’s like he’s been there for years and that’s quality.”
