After the Premier Soccer League have announced the 2024/25 Betway Premiership fixtures, the dates for this season’s Soweto Derby have been confirmed.
The kick-off of the 2024/25 league campaign is still one month away, with the opening fixtures set to take place on 14 September.
While the Glamour Boys travel to Bloemfontein to face Marumo Gallants after they purchased the status of Moroka Swallows, Pirates kick off their campaign against Chippa United.
However, local football fans have to wait much longer for the first Soweto Derby – arguably the biggest game in the South African football calendar.
Both derbies of the 2024/25 Betway Premiership are set to take place in 2025 only, with Orlando Pirates hosting Kaizer Chiefs on 1 February.
The reverse fixture will take place on 3 May, when Amakhosi host their bitter rivals.
The 2024/25 league campaign will finish on 24 May, when Chiefs host Polokwane City, while the Buccaneers face AmaZulu away from home.
