AmaZulu are close to completing the signing of Guily Manziba, according to the club coach Romain Folz.
Manziba has been training with Usuthu for some time with the hope to win the contract after he was released by SuperSport United at the end of last season.
The DR Congo attacker spent three seasons with SuperSport, who signed him ahead of the 2019/20 season from Zambian side Zanaco FC.
During his three-year spell with SuperSport, the 26-year-old featured in 28 matches without scoring a goal.
But it seems like he has done enough to win over the former Marumo Gallants coach’s heart at AmaZulu even though his numbers are not impressive.
“He’s in the process of doing his paperwork to be registered,” said Folz.
“Still not sure if he will be registered in time for this game (against Kaizer Chiefs at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Friday), but it is not confirmed yet at the moment, so that is the only thing that I can tell you.”
When asked if he was happy with him and his progress that he has witnessed so far at training, Folz said.
“I’m,” he replied with a straight face.
Manziba is the second signing done by Usuthu in this January transfer window following the acquisition of Junior Dion from Gallants.
