Orlando Pirates striker Kwame Peprah has agreed terms for a six-month loan move to Maritzburg United.
It marks a surprise turn of events for the Ghanaian striker after the club rejected bids from Al Ahli Tripoli for his services in the off-season as well as a loan approach from Cape Town City.
But with Peprah seeking first-team football after being limited to just 109 minutes this campaign, they have agreed for him to reunite with head coach Fadlu Davids at the Team of Choice.
iDiski Times can confirm the approach was made on Monday before swiftly being concluded, with the player now set to leave Johannesburg this evening.
Peprah scored 12 goals and registered as many assists for King Faisal in the Ghana Premier League prior to his arrival in South Africa at the beginning of last season. He went on to hit nine goals in his debut campaign for the Buccaneers.
That was all under coach Fadlu Davids, who was the co-coach at Pirates before leaving at the end of last season. Peprah is now reuniting with Davids at Maritzburg, with the aim to lift the club out of the relegation zone.
That will be Ghanaian’s task this season before returning to Mayfair or potentially securing a move elsewhere.
